E21’s batch process manufacturing software functionality provides for the automatic scaling of ingredient quantities based on scheduled batch sizes. Since ingredient scaling is built around E21’s fully integrated bill of materials and manufacturing routing functionality, process manufacturers can build production facility and machine-specific rules with minimum and maximum batch quantities for their respective formulas and finished goods.

The batch scaling functionality supports multiple units of measure and incorporates unit-of-measure rounding rules. These features help you ensure that certain BOM components, such as packaging materials, scale to whole units rather than fractions of a unit.
