Multi-level bills of materials

A manufacturing bill of materials (BOM) provides a listing of all ingredients, components, sub-assemblies, pseudos, and phantoms used to produce a manufactured item. Additionally, process and discrete manufacturers often include labor and overhead cost elements on their bills of materials. With the E21 ERP manufacturing software system, manufacturers can build, track, and maintain their bills of materials in one centralized system for both manufactured items and kit items.

In E21, BOMs can be infinite levels deep (BOMs on BOMs on BOMs), and the system provides easy, single-click access to view the full indented bills of materials. The system also supports yield factors for each component of the BOM, and these yields are in turn used in E21’s integrated ERP MRP software programs to generate a material plan based on a combination of both BOM quantity and yield values.

As part of the E21 process manufacturing software solution, process manufacturers, especially those in food and beverage, chemicals, CPG, and other related industries, can build and maintain formulas and recipes directly within the application. Notes and other recipe and batch instructions can also be maintained in the application and later printed on batch tickets and other documents for production. With support for scalable batches, the E21 system can automatically scale the formula ingredient quantities based on the scheduled batch size.
